GETTIN’ DOWN WITH THE DINAH

Each year thousands of women from all countries, all walks of life, make their pilgrimage to Palm Springs for the Kraft Nabisco Championship as it is now known.  It was founded in 1972 by Dinah Shore and over the years, it has been known by several names:

•    1972-1981: Colgate Dinah Shore
•    1982-1999: Nabisco Dinah Shore
•    2000-2001: Nabisco Championship
•    2002-present: Kraft Nabisco Championship

To many, it is simply known as “The Dinah.”  

And do they come – thousands upon thousands – some to take in the excitement of seeing the best women golfers in the world compete for the title; some, to take in the excitement of seeing so many beautiful women in one place, and most for the parties that have eclipsed the golf tournament in popularity.   

Some twenty years ago Mariah Hanson thought “I think this event could get huge. It just needs some panache," and Panache she brought!  Today, Club Skirts hosts one of the largest parties in the nation in Palm Springs over what is universally known as “Dinah Shore Weekend.”  She offers Comedy Nights, Pool Parties and theme events with unparalleled entertainment.

“Last year Lady GaGa, Katy Perry and the Indigo Girls (just to name a few) performed throughout the weekend.  “We couldn’t believe the amazing feedback we received.  Everyone we talked to thought it was one of our best events ever,” offered Club Skirts creator Mariah Hanson.  “We plan to bring that same level of entertainment and fun to this years’ event and to honor our 20 years of partying in the Desert.”

The 2010 schedule includes:

•    Wednesday, March 31st  with “Cocktails, Cocktails,” the opening night meet and greet to get you on your way to making friends for the weekend; 
•    Thursday, April 1st is the Comedy Show and the Dinah Official Opening Party with a Special Midnight Performance which will be announced;
•    Friday, April 2nd is a busy day starting with Friday at the Pool, a Comedy Hour, Logo Network Red Carpet VIP Party, and The White Diamonds Mega-Party featuring a top-ten recording artist;
•    Saturday, April 3rd starts with the Cabana Girl Pool Party, followed by the Here TV Red Carpet VIP Party culminating in The Hollywood Party featuring a top ten recording artist and a Celebrity Fashion Show;
•    Sunday, April 4th closes the event with the Wet and Wild Pool Party and the Dinah Official Closing Party.
